One week in!

Wow, this has been one awesome week! We sent out login details to the 20 very first Efty beta users on the 1st of June. We intentionally started our beta small, organized and well-structured which enables us to really invest in building a relationship with our first users, gather feedback and kill any bugs we’ve missed ourselves straight away.

One week in, our beta users imported well over 1000 domains into Efty. It’s really exciting having people actually use the product we’ve been passionately working on for months.

I’m pleased to say that many of you have been in touch providing us with lots of great feedback about specific Efty features and some interesting insights for future development which is fantastic. We read every single email and form entry and REALLY appreciate the time you’ve taken to share your thoughts.

We’d like to give you guys some insight in the adjustments we’ve made this week and address some of the most frequently asked questions.

Custom domains

The feature that will have the most impact on your public portfolio is custom domains. This was the most requested feature from day one so we decided to get onto it right away.

You can start using a custom URL for your Efty Marketplace. Check out www.namerockstar.com to see my marketplace. This feature is really helping you to give your portfolio the exposure it deserves! To set a custom domain for your market, go to Settings > Efty Market and just follow the steps.

Oh, and did you know you can choose to display your market domains in either a table or in tiles?

Why do I have to input purchase and renewal fee prices?

One of the great things about Efty is that it will provide you with great insight into your performance as a domainer over time. We’ve made purchase price and yearly renewal fee mandatory so we can provide you with true up-to-date financial insight including stats about monthly renewal fees per extension, total portfolio investment, sales per period and much more.

I’m now able to mentally (or maybe I should say financially 😉 prepare myself for a somewhat hefty month in renewal fees coming up next month:

Maybe I should drop my July names and take a vacation instead 😉

And without inputting purchase and sold prices I wouldn’t be able to quickly see if I’m on my way to profitability as a domainer when I log into my Cockpit:

Almost in the green!

In case you were wondering: you and only you can see this data. Even we at Efty don’t have access to your financial data such as purchase and sold prices etc.

Kill the cPanel layout 🙂

A comment that made us laugh and cry at the same time, was that we need to drift away from the somewhat boring layout. “It’s a very backend-esque feel, almost like I am using cPanel.”. Ouch! Although our focus with Efty is helping domainers make more money we will definitely be working on spicing up the layout a bit so stay tuned for a more colorful design.

What do you think?

When you’re an existing beta user please use the feedback form inside Efty or email us at [email protected] to let us know your feedback, questions, comments or just to say hi. There is also the comment thread below. We’ll be reading everything that comes in and responding asap where we can.

When can I get started?

We’ll be adding 20-30 users every other day for the next couple of weeks but if you want to jump the queue feel free to drop us an email at [email protected] and we will add you to next batch of users.

We will be updating our blog weekly for as long as we’re in beta so keep an eye out for the next update!

Have a great Sunday everyone!
