Every domain name should have a for-sale landing page setup so when a buyer types your domain into their browser address bar, they know it’s for sale and have a hurdle-free path to purchase it.
In Efty, we make this really easy to do.
First, since you added all of your domain names to Efty, you’re half-way to the finish line.
Two quick tips:
1. If you click the “Efty Market” top menu item, and scroll to the bottom of the page, you can select your default landing page theme. If you’re not sure which one you want, click the “Theme picker” link and it will open a sample landing page for you to look at. In the upper right-hand corner of that page is a pull-down menu, allowing you to choose themes by name, type and industry. I, personally, really like the Kiffer theme and Hong Kong theme, but view them all.
If you want a buy it now theme, here are some options, if you want a UDRP safe theme (one that says the domain name MAY be for sale) or an INDRP theme (contact us for inquiries — not saying it’s for sale at all), choose those. I like the Health theme for my Diagnose.com domain.
But let me remind you that this is a default theme, so make it generic as it will show up on all your domain names until you override it on a per-domain basis.
2. Secondly, if you want to track visitor information, enter your Google Analytics code here.
Now, the second part of setting up these landing pages is going back to your registrar and changing your DNS for your domain names.
Select the domain names you added to Efty, then mouseover “Nameservers” and click “Set Nameservers”, then select “Custom”, then click the “Enter custom nameservers” link, and type in ns1.eftydns.com and click the “Add Another” button, then type in ns2.eftydns.com and click the “Add Another” button, and click the “Finish” button. Then click the “Save” button.
It will take anywhere from minutes to hours for the DNS of your domain names to populate around the internet and for your domain names to display on your brand new, beautiful for-sale landing pages.
Every registrar has a different way to update the DNS of domain names. Check their help desk or contact their support group for assistance.
