We all know that data is needed to make the right decisions. How much traffic are your domains getting and where exactly is the traffic on your marketplace coming from? Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could get a breakdown of visitor countries, referring sites and even search engine traffic?
Say hello to Google Analytics integration. With Google Analytics you now have additional insight and data points on your traffic, in addition to the stats already offered by Efty.
Setting up Google Analytics for your domains is easy:
Log in to Google Analytics account, and go to the Admin page. From there select the Property drop down menu and Create a new property.
On the Create property page enter a name for the property, such as “Efty marketplace”. Enter the url of your Efty powered marketplace into the website URL box. Upon submitting the form, your property ID will be created starting with UA-… This is your Analytics tracking ID.
Once you have the tracking ID, all you have to do is then copy and enter this tracking ID in your Efty Settings > Marketplace page.
For-Sale landing pages:
You need a second, separate tracking ID for your For-Sale landing pages. Repeat the same steps as you followed for setting up your Efty Marketplace ID. Log in to Google Analytics account, and go to the Admin page. From there select the Property drop down menu and create a new property.
On the Create property page enter a name for the the property, such as “Efty landers”. Enter one of your Efty domain names into the website URL box – this can be any domain in your Efty account that is currently using our name servers. Upon submitting the form, your property ID will be created starting with UA-… This is your Analytics tracking ID:
Once you have the tracking ID, all you have to do is then copy and paste this tracking ID in your Efty Settings > Marketplace page under For Sale landers (scroll down to the bottom) and Google Analytics will start tracking traffic on ALL your Efty For-Sale landing pages.
You should be able to see domain data in your Google Analytics account within 24 hours. A data breakdown per domain name can be viewed using the hostname dimension.
Here’s how to do that:
First you navigate to Acquisition, Overview in the left-hand menu. Once you are there you can see traffic per source, Direct, Referral, Organic search, Social etc. Click on Direct (for example) and then under Other, you type in: Hostname.
Once you’ve done so you will see a breakdown from the Direct traffic for each domain name:
We should of had a choice. You took away a feature without checking with your customers.

Hi Anthony, the Google Analytics feature was added after extensive testing and continuous feedback from our users. Only when we were 100% confident this integration would vastly improve the user experience and accuracy of the stats we went ahead and implemented it. I’m sorry if you’re missing the old traffic stats within Efty but we honestly felt everyone deserved better and more accurate stats.
